Volunteer Responder Intern ProgramOur Intern volunteers live outside of our District. They are required to complete shifts at our Headquarter. They also receive the same training opportunities that our in District members do. Contact Lt. Charles Douglass for Information (541) 688-1770 or cdouglass@lrfr.org Requirements and Expectations of Intern RespondersLANE RURAL FIRE/RESCUE Intern Responders provide on-duty shift coverage and fulfill duties and responsibilities outlined in a personal letter of understanding. Intern Responders are provided with on-duty sleeping quarters while working overnight shifts. No compensation is associated with this position. The fulfillment of shift duties and responsibilities are required in exchange for training opportunities, experience and an the opportunity to serve. During the times when there are no active calls-to-duty, Intern Responders are encouraged to spend their shift time at the station engaged in active learning (vehicle familiarization, work-books, computer-based learning, training, drills, etc…) and station housekeeping as needed, and other duties as assigned. LANE RURAL FIRE/RESCUE values members that are called to serve. In order to provide the high level of service that has come to be expected of our agency, Intern Responders need to be able to “bond” with the mission, people and equipment that allow us to perform our duties. Intern Responders are expected to complete shift points per month and are encouraged to work extra shifts and spend extra on-duty time at the station. More shift time means more call experience. Shift point questions can be answered by the Intern Responder Coordinator. If an Intern Responder is unable to meet the minimum requirements for participation, he/she may be suspended or removed from the program at the discretion of the Command Staff. Due to the level of training that we provide, and the time we put into our members, we require that Interns come to us with an EMT-B OR a strong firefighting background with preferably a Basic FF or a FF1. Intern Responders are responsible to adhere to the Chain-of-Command. In addition, Intern Responder’s attendance, additional assigned duties and shift points maintenance are also accountable to the assigned Intern Coordinator. Questions and concerns regarding the above should be addressed directly to the assigned Intern Coordinator. LANE RURAL FIRE/RESCUE is looking for individuals with a great compassion to serve their community, a dedication to our mission, and a positive teamwork ethic. Charles Douglass for Information (541) 688-1770 or cdouglass@lrfr.org |
