Here's a great piece of Lane Rural nostalgia. Featured on the front page of the October 1989 edition of the Blachly-Lane Electric 'Ruralite' is Division Chief Jim Drew (formerly a volunteer Captain). This edition focuses on the need for volunteers, a topic that is still very relevant today. You'll enjoy reading the article... there are a few things different, like the fact that our district only had two Hurst tools at the time. However, most of the article highlights our family atmosphere and camaraderie we have always had at Lane Rural Fire District.
Thanks to Erik Goetsch for the fantastic find!
